Net Plopping: Sounds So Crazy It Works!
You’ve probably heard of plopping if you’ve had curly hair for more than five minutes. Most of us do it with an old oversized t-shirt. After washing and treating your hair with your favorite products, lay your t-shirt on your bed, flipping your hair upside down into the center of the shirt. Then, you tie the shirt around your head and hang out.
This technique is a great way to uplift your roots and define your curls. You can plop overnight or wait twenty minutes before diffusing as normal.
Net plopping stumbled onto the scene a little while back, though, and it looks intriguing as H E double hockey sticks. It’s effectively the same idea, but instead of lowering your hair into a t-shirt, sink it into a pair of fishnet stockings. Yup, we’re going to the Moulin Rouge with this hairstyle.
Flip your head back over and tie the ends around your head so that your hair sits on top of your head (you might have roughly the same head shape as the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, but trust the process.)
Now it’s time to diffuse. Standing up or sitting down, dry your hair through the fishnets. This gives a great combination of plopping and diffusing that gives you the volume we love from diffusing and the definition we’re addicted to from plopping.
